Description: Workers are small, white colored, two sectioned bugs found in soil or wood. During spring and fall termites will “swarm” in homes. In swarm stage, they do not eat or damage, but breed. In this stage a termite swarmer will turn black and grow wings. A Termite swarmer has two sets of wings that are equal in length, and are two thirds longer than the length of the entire insect. Swarming termites are often confused with flying ants.
Treatment: Liquid Treatment – Soil treatments are performed by injecting liquid termiticide into the soil around the foundation of structures, and may require drilling holes in concrete slabs to inject beneath. Taurus SC termiticide lasts 10-20 years and only requires yearly inspections.
Important note: Not all pest control companies use termiticides with such long life span. Not all chemicals are created equal!
