Fleas can be quite a nuisance. This small blood eating insect bites and feeds on any warm blooded creature. There are various types of fleas such as the dog flea, the cat flea, and many others, but these two are the most common to find in a home. All fleas bite and infest homes, especially if pets are in the home. Their bite can be very sharp, like a quick stabbing pain, followed by a very itchy irritation. Flea eggs can lay dormant for several years, even if pets are not in the home. Fleas can be brought into the home on clothes.

Treatment: Bug-A-Boo uses a residual product on all floors (carpet, wood and tile), furniture and recommend stripping of beds so mattresses can be treated. We also treat the perimeter outside of the home to help prevent another infestation.
Preparation:
- Floors to be vacuumed and throw sweeper bag away/empty vacuum canister. Fleas can live and breed in them.
- Mop floors before treatment, as mopping of floors is not recommend for two weeks after treatment.
- If you are going to have carpets cleaned, do so before treatment since cleaning of carpets remove the products used for treatment.
- People and pets must leave the home during treatment and not return for at least 1-2 hours after treatment is completed.
- All food, toys and clothing must be stored away from treatment areas.
- Products used for treatment have low order, which usually dissipates within an hour.
- Products used for treatment do not stain furniture or carpet.
- Fish, birds and reptiles must be covered.
Recommendation: Bug-A-Boo recommends all pets be treated for fleas prior to returning to the home.
