Bug A Boo Inc was founded in 1983 by the Kindell family in Piqua, Ohio, in response to a growing need for professional pest management services for residential properties. The family obtained all necessary licensing and training and began providing effective for general household pests, termite control, wood-destroying insect inspections for real estate transactions and rodent management.
In 1989, upon the retirement of the founding family members, Dawn Kindell purchased the company and continued its tradition of quality service while expanding its capabilities. Under her ownership, Bug A Boo added commercial, industrial, and municipal pest management services, including ULV mosquito fogging programs and preventative rodent control services. Our mosquito management programs have been utilized in cities, campgrounds, residential estates, golf courses, wedding venues, and other large outdoor environments where effective mosquito reduction is essential for public health and customer enjoyment.
As bed bug infestations became an increasing concern throughout the industry, Bug A Boo expanded its expertise and service offerings to include comprehensive bed bug treatment programs and free inspections.
In 2016 Chris Root joined the company as a technician, and over time became the Chief Operations Officer. Chris oversees daily operations as the Service Manager, helping to ensure that all of our customers receive professional, effective, and dependable pest control solutions.
Continued growth of the company led to the acquisition of Troy Pest Pros in Troy, Ohio and Sullenberger Pest Control in Piqua, Ohio. These acquisitions strengthened the company’s presence throughout the region and expanded its ability to serve customers with a highly trained team of pest management professionals.
Today, Bug A Boo proudly serves Miami, Darke, and Shelby Counties, as well as portions of Montgomery and Auglaize Counties. The Company continues to invest in advanced training, technology, and customer service to meet the needs of homeowners, businesses, industries, municipalities, and property managers.
In 2023, Bug A Boo purchased its current facility located at 6789 State Route 41 in Covington, Ohio. The new location includes a retail do-it-yourself pest control store, allowing homeowners to receive expert advice and access professional-grade products for their pest management needs.
Since 2015, Bug A Boo has been honored as a Best of Miami County and Best of Shelby County readers choice awards for pest control provider, reflecting our commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction.
